Browser-Based Course Delivery
Designed to operate on a district network without "stealing all the bandwidth," SafeSchool's courses require a standard web browser and the Macromedia's Flash 5.0 plug-in. Since the courseware is browser-based, and is available across the most popular desktop operating systems, it takes up less network bandwidth than the average Word document or PowerPoint presentation.

Supported browsers:

  • Internet Explorer: 4.X, 5.X and 6.X.
  • Netscape Navigator: 4.X, 6.X.

Supported operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows: NT, 98, 2000, ME, and XP.
  • Apple: Macintosh 9.X and OS X.

Compliance Management System (CMS)
Using the best-of-breed "Open Source" tools, SafeSchools employs a foundation of the Apache web server, a MySQL database, and the Linux operating system to drive the Compliance Management System. Open systems architecture allows SafeSchools to support and maintain the CMS at minimal cost, while still providing outstanding performance. Available in an ASP or Enterprise model, the CMS combines state of the art software with engaging content to create an ideal on-line learning experience for district staff.

Application Service Provide (ASP)
Through an ASP model, school districts are able to begin using SafeSchool's Compliance Management System quickly and easily without an investment in hardware, software installation, or technical staff training. Scenario Learning provides this "Internet-based" functionality as a hosted solution for all SafeSchools courses. Administrators and staff can utilize the program from school, home, or where ever they are connected to the Internet.

Enterprise Server Solution (Winter 2003)
Larger school districts may choose to use an enterprise version of the Compliance Management System (CMS) running within the domain of the district's technology team. This version of the software contains the same functionality as the ASP version, while preserving the bandwidth of the district's local or wide area network.
