Reducing Incidents
There is a centuries-old expression that goes, "an ounce of prevention
is worth a pound of cure." The same can be said for school safety.
Safer and more effective schools do not happen automatically. This
requires the best thoughts and efforts from a broad community coalition
led by school administrators.

Many school districts invest considerable effort into the development
of school safety and crisis management plans, only to let them languish.
Reducing the potential for a safety incident requires a constant vigilance,
thoughtful planning, sustained training and implementation, and continual
monitoring and incident tracking. The SafeSchools system is conceptualized
and designed around sustained implementation and continual monitoring. |
