Corporate History
Experience
The seeds of Scenario Learning were planted many years ago. The founders
of Scenario Learning have spent their entire careers creating and serving
educators through textbook publishing, educational software, administrative
systems for school districts, guidance resources, and academic web
sites. The Scenario team recognized that the Web is a powerful medium
for delivering real-life simulations and that scenarios could one day
establish a new publishing paradigm.
SafeSchools
The core concepts for the SafeSchools System were sketched in May of
2001 after an extensive discussion of the question, "Are our schools
safe?" In following up with many school administrators, the answer
was evident: school districts lacked a thorough systematic approach
to implementing a school safety program. While the training requirements
were significant, educators struggled to stay abreast of the broad
spectrum of safety-related issues - from blood-borne pathogens (required
by OSHA) to bullying. The SafeSchools System matches the power of scenario-based
staff development with a compliance management system. This system
is a tool for the administrator that instantly demonstrates a school's
compliance with the broader range of safety issues.
Professional Development by Educators
The SafeSchools System was developed with extensive educator and learner
input. Working with leading instructional design firms, the system
now represents a powerful approach to staff development. Recently,
SafeSchools was named the recommended safety instructional system by
the American Association of School Administrators. |
